Clan McClurg

Descended primarily from Scots-Irish and English ancestry, the McClurg family line affirms old bonds of clan kinship and tradition. While not an official Scottish clan of itself, Clan McClurg celebrates familial connections to several Scottish Clans, including Clan Donald, Clan MacLeod, and Clan Chattan and continues Old World traditions as a New World offshoot from old stock. Americans with a diverse ethnic story, we celebrate all our heritage and remember the strength of all our ancestors and never forget our roots. Clan McClurg is thus a New World Clan; within our ranks you will find warriors from the traditions of the Celts, Saxons, Slavs, Normans, and the Germanic Tribes. Our Clan is ever expanding. Ever strengthening.

Clan McClurg bestows upon all competitors and trial lifters at SCS events and competitions honorary membership in our Clan, aka, "The Stone Circle." To lift our stones is to honor our Clan.  And thus we honor you. The Clan McClurg tartan (known in the tartan industry as "All Ireland Green") reflects our roots in the Celtic world, and in its deep verdant tones, continues the theme of growth and continuity. We are proud to see our Clan grow and prosper and the many strong who wear our tartan with pride.  We encourage all our honorary members to wear the Clan tartan and represent the solidarity of strength at any event at which we are present. Clan McClurg membership gives several benefits to members, including:

---20% Discount on all future Competition Entry Fees
---$5 off future Trial lifting attempts
---10% Discount on Clan McClurg tartan through Sport Kilt
---Entry to the SCS Tent and libations with the clan warriors within
---Secret knowledge on Clan McClurg lifting stones throughout Appalachia

All one has to do is produce the Clan Certificate ("Built from Stone") either on paper or via image, or simply wear the Clan Tartan, and the benefits apply.  We look forward to the bonds that belonging to the Stone Circle only can create.
