For all
When you visit the Clan McClurg Stone Circle Strongman tent at any Celtic Festival, you will have a chance to learn about and interact with the legendary McClurg Manhood Stones. So long as you possess the required physical skills, fitness, and age requirements (as described in the SCS Background Safety Check and waiver you must sign), which are for the safety of everyone involved, you are welcome to attempt to lift the stones.
Upon understanding the importance of and passing the SCS Background Safety Check of safety requirements, you will read and sign the waiver, pay $10 handling fee in cash or via Venmo (which helps Clan McClurg continue to run SCS), and you will then receive personal coaching by SCS staff on site about how to lift a manhood stone properly and safely. We will first coach you on proper lifting form; then we will interact with one of the smaller manhood stones, practicing the form as we warm up our muscles. After the tutorial and warmup, you will have a chance to lift stones according to your ability.
Since we want everyone's experience to be nothing but positive at SCS, we do reserve the right to deny trial lifting to any whom we deem unsuitable for any reason. It's not something we wish to do, but we take everyone's safety seriously, and we take pride in running a safe and fun experience. So show up healthy, happy, and ready to interact with ancient Celtic tradition, and we will help you Rock Hard!
You must pass the following SCS Background Safety Check by answering "yes" to items 1 - 4, and "no" to items 5 - 7. You will complete this form along with the SCS waiver in order to participate:
1. Do you have recent experience lifting moderate to heavy weights or objects?
2. Are you between the ages of 18 and 55?
3. Have you had something to eat within the last two hours?
4. Are you fully hydrated?
5. Do you have any preexisting medical conditions or injuries which would make lifting stones unwise?
6. Do you have any history of passing out?
7. Are you currently under the influence of any drug or alcohol which would make lifting stones dangerous?
In addition to trial lifting of the heavy manhood stones, SCS also is a live-action workout station where stone weightlifting/bodybuilding exercises are performed by interested visitors and SCS staff. It is the overall mission of SCS that people know that resistance training doesn't require gym memberships and has always been available in nature--that stones of all shapes and sizes can help everyone of all shapes and sizes be strong and healthy and feel that special connection to the natural world. So if you just want to get a workout in, get your pump on at the SCS tent with any the weightlifting stones there. We will happily coach and encourage you as you get Built from Stone!
